‘to sound again’ ‘to resound’ from the Latin verb resonāre

A large-scale, site-specific installation informed by hydrophone recordings captured at local waterways including Warrnambool Breakwater, Merri River, Hopkins River, Lake Pertobe, Tower Hill, Jubilee Park, Shelly Beach and Griffiths Island, Port Fairy. Through hand-cut repetitive marks, the fiberglass surface becomes a resonant field, echoing the hidden acoustics of underwater currents and vibrations.

A series of saltwater drawings mark time, through accumulations, evaporation and crystallisation. Gestural marks are applied in response to hydrophone recordings, with repeated application, drying and reworking transforming the drawing field into a site of sedimentation and disruption.
